Peace & Blessings Maryland Mentoring Family —
As always, I pray this message finds you well and in high spirits. Though these times continue to be challenging, and we still find ourselves in a new and
strange world as we navigate a pandemic that has changed how we do almost everything, I don’t want us to ever lose sight of what’s important.
For me, personally, and our team at Maryland MENTOR, it has and will always continue to be about relationships. About connections. Supporting each other when we need it and, most importantly, supporting ALL our young people because they deserve it. This ideal drives us to be present and supportive of the program community because without you all, there would be a crater sized hole in the lives of our young people.
Over these last several months we’ve seen you all be present for young people and families, support educators in staying in touch with young people, transform into Uber Eats drivers or messengers – whatever it took – as many of their worlds have been turned upside down.
Witnessing these consistent displays of humanity and love and passion across the youth development field and inside of our mentoring programs has been nothing short of amazing and has caused me to maintain something else that is absolutely critical in all our lives — hope!!
Keep pushing because your work matters; and again, our young people deserve it!
