Shaina and MeMe
My initial reason for becoming a mentor is because I believe that teenagers should have someone they can talk to and lean on in hard times. I genuinely wish I had an older sibling to look up to and help me along the way. I love being a mentor and assisting where I can, I make sure I don’t overstep my boundaries when it comes to certain things. As a mentor, I try to meet my mentee where she is and allow her to be open with to me as she feels the need to because being a teenager is difficult sometimes. When you pry into their business that may make her different. I try to spend as much quality time with her as possible. In the short time I’ve known her, I have adopted her as a little sister of sorts and with her aging off the program I know I will miss her. However, I will continue to assist her when she needs me.
